Apple iPhone’s styled multi-touch control will be developed in Microsoft Windows 7. This latest Windows OS completed with Windows Touch logo will be the first OS for Mouse and keyboard-less PC interaction. Microsoft is really confident that multi-touch PC will become a popular retailed product, both for laptop or home PC. Several windows engines are touch input ready and Microsoft is currently preparing Windows Touch Logo introduction program. This program will give learning resource of Windows Touch optimization.
Windows Touch will have tap and double tap, drag, scroll, zoom, flick, and rotation features. The Developer Team said that the touch world will stimulate other development such as hardware. While Chris Bernard, a Microsoft’s interface evangelist, mentioned that gesture and touch will be a revolutionary interaction with computer after GUI (Graphical User Interface) and later keyboard and mouse.
Some application like Internet Explorer and Windows Media Centre is currently optimized with different levels of touch feature. For example, while user trying to touch scrolling in a non touch windows, this engine will detect it as scrollbar and run the scrolling. Microsoft had analyzed thousands samples from hundreds people to help them defines gesture and touch application.
Final version of Windows 7 will be released in 2010, and the RC (Release Candidate) will be released in next May for examination purpose.
